Found along the northern coast of Sydney, measuring an impressive 7.9 centimeters, it was safely transported to an Australian reptile park after a concerned passerby took it to a local hospital.

Atrax Robustus spiders, known for their toxicity, typically range from one to five centimeters, with females being larger.

The venom is highly dangerous, and the presence of such a giant specimen could significantly contribute to venom research. Since the launch of an antivenom production program in Australia in 1981, there have been no reported fatalities resulting from Atrax Robustus spider bites.
